Amalia making a difference and taking a stand at the Morro Bay High School walk out today during school. She played her song “Renegades” which is a fight song for her generation. Students throughout the nation left their classes to protest for gun control and safety in schools. This protest was in response to the 17 people killed in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas school. The students walked out for 17 minutes throughout the nation to honor those 17 students who were killed. The video of Amalia’s singing at the walkout made the local newspaper and eventually national news. Check out full lyrics in the Tribune.
